Arapahoe High School Senior Lauren had some tricky weather on her senior portrait session! We had to split it into two days because we only got a few shots off before it really started raining! Lauren is a sweet heart. I always try to bring out different elements of someones personality during a shoot because I love the uniqueness in people. When you are a teenager you may not know exactly who you are yet. Lauren always saw herself as this giggly girl who could never be serious. I loved that she is so fun but I wanted to show her that she is lots of different things. After that first click she told me she never knew she had it in her. This is what I love about portraiture. Faith Christian High School Senior Pictures: Jack
Faith Christian High School Senior Jack is ones of those guys that just has it all. Photogenic, funny, confident, talented and smart. He got a scholarship to play Golf in Colorado so we kicked off our sunrise session on the course! We could put these sports photos in a Nike advertisement. I love shooting high school guys because I remember what it was like. Unsure about where your life is going, where you will end up, missing your family while you are away at college. I see so much confidence in Jack and it makes me excited for man he will become. For more information or to book your session contact me here!
Denver East High School Senior: Liz
Denver East High School Senior Liz wanted to do a little something different on her portrait shoot. She is a dancer, the ballet kind! We ended a few shots with her showing off her awesome moves. Before that we walked around my favorite party of downtown Denver... Cheeseman Park. There are just so many interesting places that are perfect for showing off an interesting person becoming an adult. To book your session or to get more information on senior pictures, shoot me an email!
Faith Christian High School Senior Pictures: Carli
Faith Christian High School Senior Carli rocked her portrait session. We started in the studio before heading to Cheeseman Park for some outdoor pictures in Denver. Carli has one of the most natural smiles I’ve seen. She is a great competitor and lives life to the fullest and it inspires me to see someone so positive and ready to take on the world. I know she will! To book or get more information on your high school senior portraits contact me here!
First Date Contest Winners
Thank you to everyone who submitted a story. I love stories. I love love stories and how they began. Everyone who submitted for the change at a free engagement shoot had an incredible beginning. Unfortunately there are only three winners.
Third Place: Maryanne and Josh! I love when some weird happenstance leads to two people starting something new. While I am sure her fiancé is more smooth now, a mis-typed text message lead to him letting her know that he had feelings for her. He brought roses to their first date at Morton's. What a sweetheart.
Second Place: Michael and Dana! I love meeting parents. It is possibly one of my favorite things to do when I am friends with or dating someone. Usually that part of the relationship takes a while to happen. When Michael tried to impress Dana on their first date to his own student film screening, she was. The awkward part was she also met his parents that night as they were there to support him as well. Looks like it all still worked out!
First Place: Whitney and Patrick! I love when a friend tries to set me up with someone. They are there for you and want you to be happy. There are lots of ways to set two people up. Having an Aunt create a profile for you on an online dating site, and then messaging men without your knowledge is a new one for me! I guess Whitney and her Aunt have the same taste in men because they went out to Bonefish grill and closed the place down.
Thank you to everyone who participated and I cannot wait to capture these soon!
Naples Beach Wedding // Katie and Kelly
Well, its destination wedding season. Its hard to beat a mountain wedding, but when it gets cold the beach gets pretty inviting! Katie and Kelly thought so too, so they decided to head out of Denver and have their friends and family meet them in Naples, Florida for the celebration. I must be a rain magnet because it threatened the beautiful ceremony. After guests got seated it started to come down. Luckily it passed so that they could have their dream wedding surrounded by palm trees like they had planned. Thank you Katie and Kelly for your sweetness, love, and dance skills. See you back in Denver!
Marco Island Florida Wedding // Julie and Bill
I love small weddings and I love when they are at a beautiful destination! Julie and Bill got hitched on Marco Island in Florida. Now, I’m no stranger to rain on a wedding day, but for Julie and Bill it rained almost nonstop all day. I ran outside for about 20 minutes to capture some of the beautiful sites of the wet beach before it came down some more. So glad they were brave enough to head out under an umbrella for some super fun shots. I love Colorado, but when its negative degrees, I don't mind shooting in Florida! Best of luck to you both Julie and Bill!

Kelly and Mike // New Years Engagements!
Happy New Years! This is a time of year for some many wonderful things! To look back and reflect on the good times and bad of the previous year. To set new goals for the upcoming one. And for many, to get engaged! Kelly and Mike decided to take that step. We wanted to bring in the new year the right way so we went down to 16th Street Mall in downtown Denver to enjoy the fireworks. I couldn’t be happier with their pictures, and I couldn’t be more excited for them to go into 2014 knowing they will be spending the rest of their life together. I’ve got a feeling 2014 is going to be just grand.
Kristin and Colin // Sunrise Amphetheater
After moving to Colorado from Galveston, TX there aren’t many people that I can say are still my friends from my childhood. Our parents being family friends meant that Colin and I have known each other since before we could walk, talk, or even crawl. When we were little I figured we would continue to be friends long after elementary school, but never did I think I would be the one to photograph his wedding. And man was it amazing. They chose Boulder, at the Flagstaff Sunrise Amphitheater to have their ceremony. It had rained at the last few weddings I shot but always cleared up by the ceremony. I was banking on that.
Kristin looked amazing in her grandmothers wedding dress walked slowly through the trees to meet the man of her dreams when there was a loud bang of thunder. No problem I thought. I was wrong. First a drizzle, and then a rain storm like I have never been outside in before. They say if it rains on your wedding day its good luck. I say it makes for the most memorable wedding, and most amazing pictures. Luckily the reception was as Chitaqua Park to get everyone cozy after that unforgettable monsoon.
You can see this wedding featured on 9 News with an interview from the couple!
